SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Wine Certification (completed or in progress) - BU Elizabeth Bishop Wine Studies Program Level 2 OR WSET Advanced Level 3 (preferred)
  • Beer certification (preferred)
  • Cheese certification (preferred)
  • Industry experience in Beverage/Service or Retail (preferred)
  • Bachelor’s degree (preferred)
  • Strong interpersonal skills; exceptional customer service and sales skills
  • Schedule and role flexibility (minimum 20 hrs per week)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve and consult customers and demonstrate proficiency in the flavor profiles of the wine, beer and menu items
  • Create and maintain strong customer relationships
  • Promote a friendly, personal customer experience every time for every customer
  • Promote a collaborative work environment
  • Stay current on food and beverage industry trends
  • Contribute innovative approaches to products and services sales and promotions
  • Assist in inventory selection, tasting event planning and execution
  • Follow all alcoholic beverage control requirements, including preventing sales or tastings to underage customers
  • Clean, stock, maintain the tasting room; this may include handling heavy loads up to 50lbs
